This year’s Deya Steady Rolling ‘Strata’ will be pouring from 4pm. When it’s gone it’s gone!

‘‘A few years ago we were introduced to a new hop varietal ~ Strata ~ that we got very excited about… 

Sourced through the lovely people at Indie Hops in Portland (OR), this expressive varietal caught our attention, and the idea was hatched to utilise its heady tropical, citrus aromas in a one off version of Steady Rolling Man..

Now in its third year, Steady Rolling Strata has taken on a life of its own and we couldn’t be more excited to share this year's version with you. 

Last week, Theo was in Portland selecting the individual lot of crop year 2023 Strata that will be used in this year's batch. 

This is part of our annual hop selection trip to the Pacific Northwest where we secure the quality and preferences / nuances we want for the different varieties we contract… It is always a wonderful experience and one we believe is critical to the overall quality of our beers.  

The fresh Strata hops that Theo selected were grown at Goschie Farms in the Willamete Valley, a farm Theo managed to visit while on his trip. It was a beautiful farm, with diverse farming techniques and a strong focus on sustainable farming practices. 

These hops were harvested in September by Gayle Goschie and her team, and will be in this year's version of Steady Rolling Strata in November… By our reckoning that is pretty much unheard of in terms of freshness ~ from field to brewery in six weeks !! 

This specific lot was bright and clean with massive orange and citrus aroma - PERFECT!
